Forums - General - What movies are you ashamed of owning?

Moulin Rouge is probably my most hated movie of all time. And I like musicals quite a bit. Moulin Rouge is just a shitty, shitty movie.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

It's just not as good as Evil Dead and Evil Dead II.

Just because its not as good should be no reason to be ashamed of owning it.  It's still Bruce Campbell,  there is no way anyone should ever be ashamed of owning anyhing Bruce Campbell related EVER.

@Ben, you take that back about Knights Tale.  That movie is greatness minus the tomahawk at the beginning and the stomping but thats just Hollywood.  Don't give me the crap that it doesn't follow Chaucer, its still good.

Saw II, I bought it on valentines day like 4 years ago for my gf at the time because she wasn't into the mushy valentines day stuff.

I own Moulin Rouge on dvd. Not only that but i have the soundtrack. I also know the words to most of the songs. Despite this, im a 21 year old heterosexual male with plenty of ladies to touch

Musicals used to be the top money makers in the US in the 30s, 40s and 50s even somewhat in the 60s so I see nothing wrong with owning a few musicals.  I love Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon which is basically a chick flick disguised as a martial arts movie.

Funny. I loved Moulin Rouge. It's a "fun" movie. Not too many of those around. Nothing complicated about it, just good ol' fashioned fun to watch.
