hi. i am new to this site after been reading it regularly. I am brazilian so I am always behind in terms of gaming because in my country everything is very expensive, but i am hoping to buy a Playstation 3 (mostly for GTA 4, MGS 4 and LittleBigPlanet) sometime this year. I keep up with everything through several gaming sites, but i see people complaining how this demos is only 5min. long and i would like to know whats the average length of a demo?

NGS was about 10-15min,

Gundam was about 10-20min

motorstorm was a race basicly 5-10min

and heavenly sword feels more like 10min.

the demos are free.

Resistance was 10min the first level of the game.

Thanks for the quick reply. So a short demo is something to be expected. Did anyone ever play a demo, liked it and then played the actual game and it sucked?

The demos usually have some sort of replay value, like the Rachel missions in Ninja Gaiden Sigma, harder difficulty, etc. The Motorstorm demo was pretty difficult, so I played it for at least an hour. You can usually get at least 30 min of solid gameplay out of each demo. Supposedly, this Heavenly Sword demo has some stuff you can unlock too, which would increase the replay value. I never played the Resistance demo, so I can't talk about that.

Edit - Every game that had a demo that I played and then I decided to buy did not dissapoint me in the least.  You can always rent it if you are still unsure.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Thanks, akuma. About your avatar: is that muku-muku from Suikoden II (it could be from others Suikoden but i have only played II and III and i dont remember from III - though II is one of best RPG games i have ever played)?

OK MY REVIEW:

Cons:

- Bad controlls

- Not the best AI

- Only 3 - 4 min gameplay (even short for a demo)

- You cant block when fighting, only auoto block when you stand still

- Almost zero gore

- The camera was not that great and to use the sixaxis was awful

Pros:

-Fantastic graphics

-Great Music

If i should rate it i give it a 4.5/10.
I was not that impressed. And this demo is suppose to make ppl want to buy the game.

This is not the Killer App PS3 need

Get Ninja Gaiden instead

Supporter of

 SONY & Nintendo

Consoles owned - SNES, N64, PS, GC, PS2, PSP, PS3

 I DO NOT support Xbox

My prediction for YEARS END:

WII - 18.3 Million

Xbox 360 - 15 Million

Playstation 3 - 8.5 Million

You guys also see the MGS4 gameplay trailer on there. in 1080p WOOHOO...... Only eight more hours and I get to go home..... :( work sucks, is it wrong to put someone on hold to BS with you guys? I think it depends on perspective =D

Hell I could watch that MGS4 trailer for an hour, and when they give THAT demo I know I could play it for AT LEAST 4-5 hrs
