Epic’s Mark Rein recently got upset over the rumors that Gears of War might be ported to the PS3, calling it BS. In fact, he says, the developer is very happy with Microsoft:
“This story is complete bull****. I emailed the site and asked them to take it down. We’re very happy with our relationship with Microsoft. If it weren’t for them Gears wouldn’t be the huge hit it has become.”
Sorry, Playstation. Score one for Microsoft. Frankly though, I can see why they’d want to stand behind Microsoft. Gears of War pretty much of the biggest reasons to own an X-Box, next to Halo 3, and Microsoft deserves some credit for hyping it up so Epic could deliver the goods.

And that game is being published by Sega (cue Sonic music here). So it is just a slip of the tounge. Besides too much money left on the table not to license the Unreal engine.

Well, if i didn't think i could find the quote i would not have made the "48 hour" bet, So seem as i didn't find it i therefore accept the changes that you will make upon my sig ect.
Also its gotta be fair to assume that microsoft are strong favourites to keep the gears franchise exclusive, therefore why would i lie about what i heard? wouldn't it have been more newsworthy or controversial if i would have said somthing like "Metal gear solid 5 confirmed nextbox exclusive" i have placed a bet on somthing that in all fairness is not that big of a deal seem as microsoft "could maybe" get gears 3 exlcusive anyway.

Well, no one was saying whether or not Gears3 would be 360 exclusive or not, I've said many times that I believed Gears3 would indeed be 360 (or possibly "720") exclusive. The argument has always been about whether or not Epic has said anything in the context of a 3 game deal with MS or Gears 3 being published by Microsoft. The only thing we've heard is that Epic made a 2 game deal with Microsoft (according to patcher and N'gai Croal), but being that Microsoft (since it's not their I.P) and Epic (since they're protective of their I.P) has never confirmed or denied the deals to the public, it wouldn't make sense to start announcing exclusivity status on Gears3.
Also, no franchise is truly "locked down" unless two things are certain.
1. The company that has a "lock down" owns the I.P (aka, Halo, Resistance)
2. The company that has a "lock down" is already confirmed as the publisher.

Ok, for me personally if i would have found the interview where cliff said "Gears 3 is pretty much locked down" i would still have been happy to accept the bet as a loss but would also have felt much more satisfaction from been able to find the interview.
I took the bet with the confidence that i would find the quote and could have turned round to you and said somthing like "listen to the part of the interview between 1.27 and 1.40" for example
Anyway, congrats on your victory and congrats on forcing my hand to look for the interview.
(Even though i did say please dont ask me to find the interview/article initially lol)
