So basicly you average out 2 games being played per month....still doesnt make sense.

I have no idea if the problem is my writing or your reading, but that's not even close to what I've said.

Reality has a Nintendo bias.
Around the Network

I play with myself more than any of these figures ;)

I have to wonder sometimes PS3owner, if you actually do?

Wow, they really arent making sense? Who here in vgchartz only plays there ps3 2 days withing a month? A game not F@H or music or movies, a game,demo,ps1,ps2,or ps3 game who here hasnt played it for more than 2 days in a month?

I don't think that's what it means. I'm not a native speaker or anything, but "number of sessions during days played" does not read like that at all. It's the average number of sessions you play, every day you turn your console on. Around 2 gaming sessions a day, isn't bad at all.

... 2 sessions per day.  I have no idea how you could have possibly mis-read that.

If this is accurate, there are still a huge number of PS2 and Xbox users who will probably eventually purchase one of the three new consoles (they seem unlikely to already own them considering most PS2 games can be played on the PS3 and Xbox games on the 360). That's interesting considering many people in this forum argue that most Xbox users have already moved over to the 360 (for example when arguing that Halo 3 won't sell many new 360 consoles).

The data I'd really like to see is what percentage of previous-gen console owners buy each of the new consoles. If a large segment base their purchasing decisions on brand loyalty, that would be good news for the PS3 and to a lesser extent the 360 as the prices of those two consoles fall and PS2 and Xbox owners buy them.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick
