I haven't heard anything about the rrod for a long time now has it completely dissapeared, are the new models future proof.

I doubt it is gone completely. But I feel the new models are probably within the 8-9% failure rate that is acceptable in the electronics market. More time is probably needed with the newer models before more acurate reports can be generated.

but will we get them? i don't think so. So if we cant work it out from this site then yes they must have got the failure rate to within tolerable levels

Just to warn you just in case, if you're trying to get banned just to start your month ban early, whatever ban you get for posting things against the rule stack with the month ban.  So you if you're trying to get banned for something else, your 30 day ban will likely turn into a 44 day ban.

Actually,what happend to the 360 Jasper model? It was supposes to come in september,but no luck. October? nop. Perhaps in November with the Gears 2 spike we will see the rrod killer - Jasper.
