The game seems to be improved from the original GoeW and the story seems to be very good. Can't wait to play this game for myself.

That review is making things more complicated since IGN UK says that the story is meh at best while IGN US says that the story is really good.
"While it doesn't come close to reaching the confused gravity of a Metal Gear Solid 4, Gears 2's story, and more specifically the journey, will engage you enough to keep you wanting to continue through to the end at a gallop -- ideally with a friend, as once again, it's an easier go with co-op."
That quote up there pretty much indicates what 1UP thinks about GoeW2's story:it's good but not as great as MGS4's tale.

Technically, MGS 4 doesn't really have a story on its own; it's more like a conclusion to the whole Metal Gear saga (linking everything together). If Gears of War 2 is indeed the final game of the main Gears series (which I doubt) and that it doesn't ''quite'' deliver though, then yeah, that would make sense.

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Well, I'm pretty sure very few people expected the story to have as much depth as MGS4. It's good, but I wager MGS4 goes into more detail so you can connect with the characters easier.

I didn't read the spoilers here but I've heard the Gears 2 story ends Halo 2 style with a cliffhanger at the end and not much resolution. I would almost 100% guarantee that the series continues on the 360 or possibly on the next system?

Oh, so that's what everyone was disappointed about? Damn, I thought the final battle sucked or something so I was a bit unsure if I wanted to get to the end of the game... but man, I loved Halo 2's ending to death! Good news, good news! xD

I don't think I have to be told that. I doubt GeoW2 will be the last game in the series because GeoW2 is bound to sell millions and the game seems to end on a major cliffhanger a la Halo 2.
