Having read the reviews that have come in for this game I am blown away.

Also watching the videos of the various gameplay aspects It looks incredible.

Is there anything out there that is really as good?

The first game was the first next generation game to come out imo.

This one just looks as if the bar has been set much higher.

it got the same score as R2 (similar genre... and lower score than MGS4 and LBP and GTAIV(not that I'm saying it's better).

so.... I don't think so.

Will keep fans happy though.

If we're going by review scores, there have been several games released already (many this generation) that have already put a higher benchmark. If we're going by gameplay, I'm sure it will be a great game, but it will be "outdone" by the next big shooter game. Don't overhype it. Just anticipate it.

Cmon have you seen the gameplay videos both single and multiplayer they look awesome imo.

Of course it does, it's a AAA game, but to compare it with other AAA games is a tall order. It's not as genre defining as LBP, nor is it as great at storytelling as MGS4.

but what Gears 2 is... it's doing it very very well. that's why I said fan will love it.

Doubt it's a benchmark, just another generic shooter starring big guys with big guns, but honestly speaking gameplay seems to me very well polished and should be fun judging by GeoW1. Quite an ordinary gameplay though, nothing new, so I'm not interested. R2 looks pretty much the same btw.

Well, for it to be the new benchmark, I would have to consider it against the current one, which is what? :)
