Forums - Sales - PS3 & 360 sales over the last 4 weeks Worldwide!

Below I have printed some interesting figures. As you can see, the PS3 has sold some 60k more units than the 360 over the last 4 weeks. The PS3 sales in general have been getting better over the last 4 weeks, although they have been pretty constant in Japan around the 13/14k mark. PS3 sales in "Other Regions" has been progressively getting better over the course (this is without a price cut). And of course sales in NA have been good the last 2 weeks because of the price cut. Over all though, you can notice that 360 sales are going down throughout the world. Rather worrying news for MS I think. They don't particularly have good sales in Europe and "Other Regions" and seem to be losing momentum in NA as well. I think the 360 price cut better come soon.

Week Ending 30th June/1st July WW:
PS3 Total Sales - 58,209
360 Total Sales - 67,861

Week Ending 7th/8th July WW:
PS3 Total Sales - 61,825
360 Total Sales - 60,262

Week Ending 14th/15th July WW:
PS3 Total Sales - 92,791
360 Total Sales - 57,086

Week Ending 21st/22nd July WW:
PS3 Total Sales - 87,126
360 Total Sales - 52,697

Sales in NA over the last 4 weeks (in order):
PS3 - 19,818 - 22,102 - 51,763 - 45,101 = 138,784
360 - 44,414 - 36,682 - 34,193 - 32,345 = 147, 634

Sales in OR over the last 4 weeks (in order):

PS3 - 25,750 - 26,416 - 26,934 - 28,620 = 107,720
360 - 19,599 - 20,632 - 19,503 - 17,827 = 77,561

Sales in JP over the last 4 weeks (in order):
PS3 - 12,541 - 13,307 - 14,094 - 13,405 = 53,347

The PS3 was already catching up to the 360 worldwide in weekly sales before the price cut came, now it's passed it for two weeks.

It's gonna be interesting to see how they compare for the next months before Halo 3 hits if the 360 doesn't get a price cut...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I still dont think Halo3 will sell asmany consoles as MS is hoping most of the people who bought a X360 bought it for Halo3 because the originals were apparently so amazing.

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

The XBox 360 was considered amazingly expensive by most gamers when it was initially launched at $400; 18 months after the fact it is still $400. The sales of the XBox 360 will continue to decline while it stays at its current price because they are running out of gamers who are willing to pay that much for a console and the remaining customers are waiting for a price cut.

And even with the rumoured pricecut of only $50 it wont be enough because the PS3 will probably get another pricecut of another $100 before Christmas but this is a proper pricecut not like the last one.so $350 or $399 not much difference.

Interesting addition math. Not exactly exact, but still interesting...

a 50$ price cut is not a lot, yes
but it is better than nothing
the purpose is more to damage Sony momentum "Microsoft love consumer too" than really reduce the console price.

And a 50$ price cut with 1 game could be good.

Whatever, before Halo3, I dont see Xbox360 WW sales be better than PS3.
Even if Xbox360 is able to REmake better than PS3 in NA, PS3 will compensate with Europe and Japan.

Time to Work !

Will we see the PS3 break 4 million over the next two weeks? The release of HotShotsGolf5 in Japan should push the sales, and will LAIR be released in the US over the next two weeks.

Also, that bundle in Europe could help.
