Go back one step to Anger, then turn on the X360 in a small enclosed space. Get a hair dryer, or some other heat gun and shoot more heat into the space.

Once you have the RRoD, you can send it in, and when they fix it, maybe they will notice the drive isn't working and fix that too. At worst, it didn't cost you anything but you gave it a shot




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

In all honesty, I am sad for you. I think my Wii disc drive is going to fail too. It makes loud noises whenever it spins. Luckily it hasn't started scratching discs yet.

So, I went online and found a guide on how to repair the 360's disc drive. I took my 360 apart (I've had luck with the PS1 and PS2 in the past). It didn't take long to realise that I was in WAY over my head. I decided to improvise. I grabbed a clothes hanger and stuck it into the console and started banging all of the moving parts with it (science!). Now, it's working. I'm afraid to mess with it because I know it won't last long.

But mark my words: I have hundreds of games and 3 other consoles in my house. I WILL be playing Gears of War 2 on Friday, even if I have to make a few "sacrifices".
