This sucks, Gears of War doesn't release till November 19th. Now is a good time to call Microsoft to get a box and ship it off to them, so they can do a replacement.

When did you purchase your console? I assume its still under warranty.

I called them. The lady at customer support said that I could buy a new console or get it fixed for $100. Why have you forsaken me, Bill Gates? I loved you! Why couldn't you see that? Why?

I guess I'll get Resistance 2 or something, but my heart was really set on Gears 2.

i just bought an xbox 360 elite. i hope i don't have to suffer the same loss you did.

my original release ps had to be flipped upside down to work... but it still worked the last time i powered it up.

my original release ps2 also worked the last time i powered it up.

i hope my luck continues... well after i enjoy the gaming goodness of gow2. oops.

Now I'm on stage 4.6 -turning the console upside down, banging on the console, playing with the dashboard, and putting a PS3 on top of it as if it were being raped (?). The Wii is forced to watch.

At least I still have Xbox live Arcade.....

mmm sometimes I had to turn my PS2 up, upside down or even waggle him to pass through some loading times... o_o perhaps it will broke soon. I'm scared now.

Just an FYI this same thing happened to my friend last week (disk drive death). MS will charge you $100 for the fix. The 3 year warranty only covers "RROD". This is the second time his 360 has bricked on him. Needless to say he is getting a PS3 now (little big planet put him over the edge).

You'll get over gears 2. Try Resistance 2, Dead Space,fallout 3 little big planet. Forget the 360 Gears 2 will come out on PC anyway.
