Forums - Nintendo - next High Voltage Software wii game, an RPG?

http://wiirincontrol.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=114:rpgs-for-wii-by-high-voltage-software-qkeep-your-eyes-peeledq&catid=16:team-news&Itemid=107

In this bonus section of the interview on The Conduit with Eric Nofsinger of High Voltage Software, we're given hope for games in other underrepresented genres on the Wii, as well as learn that the Wii is their: "Personal favorite system".

IW = Iran White

EN = Eric Nofsinger

IW: Have you considered, and is there a possibility of high quality RPG’s for the Wii from HVS in the future? That is another area on the Wii that is sorely lacking.

EN: That really is another area that can use a shot in the arm I feel. Keep your eyes peeled because in the near future we’ll be announcing some other titles that we’ve already got underway in development. We feel that there are a number of genres that are poorly represented on the Wii for core gamers. We want to do games that are high quality. You know, that’s what we are. I think it’s a shame for what is our personal favorite system to be so underrepresented when it comes to core gamers.

Imagine an RPG on the Wii with as much work put into it as The Conduit? Mr. Nofsinger did not exactly say that there's one in the works, but what he did say leans that way much moreso than a: "There are currently no plans for RPG's for the Wii at this time from HVS" comment. Here's hoping. Or rather: Keep your eyes peeled.

whilst true in the past, from looking at 2009 it seems that in fact RPGs are the genre the wii will be least lacking.  however whilst there are action, japaneese, stratergy and even simulation RPGs there are no western RPGs of note. also of the 3 biggest 2009 publishers for wii,  sega is the only one not delivering an RPG. I really hope HVS can change these things. would you guys be up for a WRPG with the quality of the conduit?

A high voltage rpg would be awesome.

If they put as much effort into it as they did for The Conduit, I would love to see it.

However, it wouldn't get the same hype as TC since there are other RPGs competing against it next year (Arc Rise Fantasia looks so good). But maybe it might, since it would be the only Western RPG.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

ya i would really like that, it would get a great RPG on the wii and we need that

High Voltage is an incredible asset to the Wii right now. A few years ago, HVS wasn't important to any system. Now they are part of the deciding factor of Wii 3rd party support. I wish them the greatest of success.

It is a genre that's difficult to get right the first time. I am optimistic and would love it to turn out well, but will not get my hopes up at this point.

i really think HVS should become a second party of nintendo. they should still have thjeir titles published be sega but this way they would remain exclusive to wii and abd also be able to provide nitnendo with it's middleware, quantum 3. i hope they become the next factor 5(who should also become second party again)

High Voltage = Nintendo's next 2nd-party dev?

If they keep this up, they're going to be huge.

SEGA's publishing the game so I doubt they will.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Wii already have enough RPGs, what Wii need are more action and FPS titles...
