Forums - Microsoft - NXE leaked online.

NXE leaked, installation disables Live until November 19

It took no time at all but the New Xbox Experience has been leaked onto the internet. According to tipsters, someone who was invited to the NXE has made the update available in downloadable form online which -- like all other Xbox 360 dashboard updates -- has the ability to update any console with a USB thumb drive.

If you're thinking of grabbing the update, think again. According to Platform Nation using the leaked update disables Xbox Live on a console until November 19, the actual release of NXE. With Gears of War 2 just around the corner, you wouldn't want to take your console off the grid would you? While no reported bans have been handed down since the leak showed up it isn't hard to imagine Microsoft could take you offline for good. You've been warned.
Tempting, but I think I'll pass, esp as I have a 360 from work at the moment. The main reason I want this update is to play with avatars but you need to be connected to Live to create them, so no point really.

I said the same thing. But many of the reviews of it say it's more pratical and mucch better. I guess I'll have to try it to understand.

I don't remember where, but I read an article this morning that if you download and use this you will be permabanned from Live.

Just a warning.

I´ve read that you can´t even get online until Nov. 19, when this thing goes live. I don´t know if it doesn´t let you go online or if it lets you and then bans you.

I wouldn't be surprised if it does some kind of check on your current files on the 19th.  I would laugh pretty hard if it did.

Actually, I should change my above comment:

I'm going to be laughing pretty hard when reports of users getting banned "for no reason" start popping up on the 19th.

Yeah. I don´t know why anyone would want this, so imagine my shock if anyone would want this sooner and possibly be banned.

From what I heard you won't get banned from LIVE because the email sent out to the people who got into the NXE preview program warned that the user can share the file but if you install it with an account that's not in the preview program, that account won't be able to go on LIVE until NOV. 19th.
