^ This.
That's another reason why I don't like the GTA series.

Again, I disagree. Artistic direction, for me, is a part of a game's graphics; the two go hand-in-hand. So, further to that, I'd rather Bioshock retained it's graphical style but had the graphical quality of Crysis. That would rock a lot. However, it doesn't, and Bioshock is certainly the better game of the two (to my tastes); but, I'd still rather Bioshocks graphics were better if they could be, especially as being immersed in Rapture is such an important part of the game.
In short: A great game with average graphics wins over an average game with great graphics (for me). But a great game with great graphics wins over them both.
I dont care for the Graphics as long as they look clean and have no glitches (glitches mean that people did not do their job properly", gameplay, control and story are more important then anything. I never cared about shooters, and care about RPG's which for me can look like Baldurs Gate or Fallout and i still will incredibly enjoy it.
Games for me are mostly about Fun and relaxation, not about simulation and realism.
Isn't the reason why we buy a new console, except for the WII, to get better graphics.
Graphics gives a sense of reality, to me it makes the game much more real and alive so yes its a pretty important feature but you still need some excellent gameplay to complement the graphics.
My favorite games for this gen:
1. Gears of War 2. MGS4 3. Killzone 2 4. Halo 3(Underated by many) 5. Mass Effect

I mulled over this for a while, and eventually concluded that I disagree heavily.
For example: if Resistance 2 played better than Resistance 1, but looked like GoldenEye running at 120fps, I would not be a happy bunny at all. Sure the game would be fun to play, but it wouldn't be Resistance anymore, and would look like crap. Indeed, it would be roundly ridiculed, and rightly so.
I want Resistance 2 to look awesome, not just play awesome (and, to be clear here, playing awesome is essential, and cannot be sacrificed for the graphics).

I assume when you say a great game, you mean great gameplay? I think the issue with putting those into two seperate categories, is that graphics can enhance the gameplay. I think the chainsaw melee attack is much more satisfying with blood flying out of the body, and other details really make you feel more in the world, and so make you care about the characters more, and get into the game more, for me improving my enjoyment of the gameplay and the story

Good point. I agree entirely. And, yes, I meant great gameplay.

You can explain it with girls, you can fall in love or like a girl, which has great personality(gameplay) and its pretty(graphics), maybe not the most beautiful girl there is, but pretty too. I wouldnt like that girl even wth great personality if shes really ugly(sorry but in my case its the truth), and I wouldnt like the most beautiful girl if she was annoying.
So, its about balance, good graphics and good gameplay. And lets say the truth, if u include phisics as a part of good graphics, it really adds to gameplay.

Framerate I care about for FPs and other fast paced games
Number of pixels - I don't care, a good developer can make bbeatiful games in 480p
Artistic style, certainly adds alot to the game
light/water effects/boob physics/character models - nice additions - that's all
How much I care about graphics. It really has to be up to the point where I can see the game clearly. Not only that but the graphics always has to be good as the gameplay. So to answer your question, I care a lot about the graphics as much as the gameplay.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY
