It came to the attention of those I am with today that I've never seen the majority of scary/halloween movies while growing up.  Mind you, I was never a sheltered child.  We just didn't have an abundance of scary movies; instead I recall my father asking me, "Boy, have you ever seen Scarface?"  Thus I grew up watching mob and war movies.  I've only seen one Freddy Cougar movie, but that's it.  I had like 6 or 7 people literally freaking out that I haven't seen any of these great movies, lol.  Looks like I'm going to have an all night movie marathon :D

How about you guys.  Have you seen 'em all?  Let's name the series you've grown up watching in the scary movie genre.

on-topic, no you are not weird for not watching horror movie, watch the horror movies from 70's and 80's they were the best.

lol oops :D I've seen short clips from popular horror movies and they always crack me up; like how you will see this villan literally walking while their victim is running away,l yet they are catching up to them.

or how teenage girl would wake up at night after hearing scary sound and go towards the scary sound instead of waking up her parents

Well, if your thinking about the Halloween series..... 1, 2, H2O. When I say "1" I mean the original, not the remake. The other part of the Halloween series... You can watch them if you really want to know what happened during those parts.... but they are dull.... You could probably rent all of these movies easily at BlockBuster, or Netflix or something. There are quite a few Classic Horror films to check out. And I also recommend the 28 Later series [28 days Later, 28 Weeks later].

The Saw series aswell, but you HAVE TO start from part 1, and watch them in order. THere is also the 2 Texas Chainsaw Massacre films which were both plain awesome and.......

The list goes on, but it's not a huge list as alot of horror films these days just arent scary.

And as for your question.... Yes... I find it wierd, but that's not important, and it's probably because I love horror films myself...

Horror series I grew up on??? : Halloween.... this dude gave me nightmares from the age of 6 and it continued until I was about 15..... [16 now...]

Sweet.  What does that guy do in the Halloween films?  It takes a lot to scare me film wise.  If there are any films involving people being bone-crushed to a pulp, then yes, that will creep me out.  Other than that, you can peel skin off, stab and gore people, etc, and I won't blink an eye.

Hmm.... well, he's mainly a stalker. It's the tension and suspense in the first and second [mainly the first] film that I found awesome. In the second film there are some pretty cool things I guess like a needle into someone's eye [not going to say too much]. He's mainly an escape lunatic, his targets are family members [the remake of 1 explains that better]. But other than that you won't find much bone crushing in this sadly.... but hey, there are sites you can see people lose body parts, even a living man losing his head..... that could work.
