basically, it SHOULD push it far higher than it has been doing. The numbers have been going down and down for weeks. So if they only spike up to a number some 3K above its usual number (before it started dropping) then it's not doing well.

Despite the fact that it's a new franchise and that it's not being made by a Japanese developer, it HAS to boost HW anyway.

They're getting more for the same price, and declining HW sales over the past few weeks would suggest that quite some people have delayed purchases... The people that didn't buy (which made the PS3 drop below average) should be buying this bundle (or the next one coming soon), meaning those lost sales should be added to this one... It has to do close to or equal to the wii sales imho.

I think it'll get up there, but fall short. Maybe around 20K.

However it will have very long legs

But the same cant be said for any x360 game in Japan

GTA4 x360 version flopped as anticipated

I dunno. Mediacrate had PS3 at like... under 4K last week.

20K seems most likely to me. Though wasn't that what it used to be normally at?

Tough call really. Japan usually is a one console nation.

Japan obviously has no desire to purchase PS3's. The first game that has been taylored to their liking in the last 7 months comes out and it moves less that GTA. If they do not want quality games in Japan then Sony may as well just discontinue the system for them. Why waste your time and make games for these people if they are not going to buy them. Sony needs to go buy back all the systems they have sold so far in Japan and destroy them.

For the rest of the world they can go ahead and start making some real crappy games. I have this idea for a game that has a blue background and red 2 circles. When you hit the X button they combine to make a heart. It would have about 23 levels, and that is the extent of the gameplay. It will last about 2 hours because, most of the time you hit the X button and nothing happens. After you beat the last level another circle will appear, making way for a sequal were they all come together to make a heart. It symbolizes world peace, and is something the whole family can enjoy.

Japan has no desire to purchase x360 -- a meag flopped console that sold 670k units in 3 years

GTA4 x360 version flopped with 27k first day sales

However the ps3 version did 77k (3x as x360 version)

x360 costs less than  a ps2 in most parts of Japan and europe

In europe it never took off

In Japan the new PS3 SKU has given it a finishing blow

It's been said a million times before but just for good measure... the 7k bundle they quoted is for the Dual Shock 3 + game package.

I think it will happen. I'd be surprised if it only just beats the 360 like people are predicting.

If LBP is a hardware mover, then yes, it'll certainly beat the Wii.
