Forums - Gaming Discussion - EA hating customers, part two

source EA forum

Well, its actually going to be a bit nastier for those who get banned.

Your forum account will be directly tied to your Master EA Account, so if we ban you on the forums, you would be banned from the game as well since the login process is the same. And you'd actually be banned from your other EA games as well since its all tied to your account. So if you have SPORE and Red Alert 3 and you get yourself banned on our forums or in-game, well, your SPORE account would be banned to. It's all one in the same, so I strongly reccommend people play nice and act mature.

All in all, we expect people to come on here and abide by our ToS. We hate banning people, it makes our lives a lot tougher, but its what we have to do.

Those banned will stay banned, but like most other internet services, its not that hard to create a new fake e-mail account. However, its a lot harder to get a new serial key =)

Avatars should be back within 2 weeks of the launch.

Well, that is my first time visiting EA forum as well as yours. But aren't they a little... much?

First DRM. Now this.

RRR3 was a guarantee purchase for me. Now, I am not going to buy it. I don't like companies trying to give me and my fellow gamers an up-yours.

Not buying their games probably makes a bigger sound than emailing them and complaining.

RRR3? The only thing I know that to stand for is Rayman Raving Rabbids, and that's a Ubisoft title, not EA.

As far as the forum thing goes, why not? EA shells out for the costs of it's servers for numerous games. They don't make you pay extra. All they ask is for you to abide by the rules on their forums. I bet they get less trolls there since real consequences are implemented.

LOL, totally messed up. Too many games to keep track.

/adds RRR3 back on shopping list

On topic: So, if you bash their games and they went a head and ban you. How is that fair? You bought the game. You own the game. Why not just ban from forum and not all games?

This is pretty much casting fear on customers so that they would be afraid to say anything bad about their games or face ban.

I'd say that's a good reason to ignore EA forums completely, or to crack your legitimate copies so you won't get locked out of your (online) games because of a drunk mod on a power trip.

Well technically, you're actually just buying the right to use the software, not the software itself.

If you accept the EULA to install the game, you accept their terms and conditions
