Forums - Gaming - Boku: Microsoft's answer to Little Big Planet?

@Torillian

I see, so the platforming element is so simple casuals can play it. ^_^

You don't have to argue anything with me, I'm honestly not worth it, I'll just accept your point of view and move on... I should really just make a new account named generallyacceptantman.

In truth though, the level editor is a selling point and your point is that although the game not only details it in the tutorial and even has gameplay elements that gravitate around it (level editing) that the level editor is simply a suggestion.

Of course I wont argue only because you will say that others can play user created content and not have to make any, yes and agreed. But that doesn't go anywhere as far as my point is applied about the level editing being a selling point.

What your saying is basically that Sim City Wii isn't about buildings your city it's about destroying it.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

/facepalm ... sometimes I hate the internet.

Now to start a thread how some guitar training software for the PC is a blatant ripoff of Guitar Hero.

though, it might copy the concept of LBP, just like Avatar is to Mii, Boku is to LBP. Which means that it's much more advanced. LBP is 2D plain and this one offers much more variety in gameplay

how is that copying LBP? there was a level editor in SSBM, does that also mean LBP copied smash?

level editors run rampant since the 90ies on PC...hell you even have the dungeon maker games on consoles that have the concept, so neither LBP nor this are breaking ground... only the advertizing and hype are.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

If MS cant steal exclusives then they'll just copy exclusives! XD jk jk just felt like saying that. All these creating stage game brings me to one game in mind. Worms Armageddon !!

I swear to god... kittens will start dying... cute adorable kittens... their big eyes just opening for the first time... their cute oversized paws.... they will just start dropping dead because nobody is understanding that this is not a game.  In fact...

Hrmm... I have no idea why I'm so incensed with this topic.

LOL.  I know what you mean.  This thread is so full of misinformation and failure.

The software is meant for children around the age of 5-7 as a way of learning basic programming concepts.  In no way shape or form is it a 'game creator' and in no way is derived from LBP.

I really don't see how this has anything to do with LBP or is ripping it off in any way. Do people know there were game creators and level editors BEFORE LBP? This seems to have far more in common with programs like "Game Maker" than LBP.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

looks cool but it doesn't have a face.... [Sackboy, Mario, Sonic, etc...]

No, just no. No no no no no. You did not just put Sackboy, Sackboy! SACKBOY! in the same sentence as Mario and Sonic. Banjo or Donkey Kong even Diddy Kong I except. But lets not throw Sackboy in there. He's not even a character. It's a sack that has no personality with no story. It's just a symbol figure that is used to suit any 2d level created by the user.

What does he care for? Whats he trying to save? Does he love anyone? Does he eat? Collect coins or rings or bannanas?

Maybe hes trying to find sand grains. Oh dear. Lets not turn Sackboy into something he isnt.

(turns walks away and you hear feintly) Sackboy, same sentence as Mario. (chuckles)

I was never under the impression that the motivation of Sonic or Mario mattered at all considering the normal quality of their games' story lines. You are absolutely right that Mario and Sonic are symbols of gaming that have stood the test of time to an extent (sorry Sonic) and therefore are entirely different in that respect from Sackboy. But can you honestly tell me that they don't all have faces? Because that's all the person you quoted was talking about, his desire for characters to have faces.
