Forums - Sony - Guitar Hero Drumset does not work with Rockband 2 on PS3

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/27/guitar-hero-world-tour-drums-not-recognized-by-ps3-rock-band-2/

Despite promises to the contrary, the PlayStation 3 Guitar Hero: World Tour drum set doesn't seem to be working with Rock Band 1 or 2. Many users on the RB forums have noticed that the game is recognizing the wireless set as a microphone, and unfortunately, the mic isn't being recognized as a beat box receptor.

A Harmonix developer has chimed in to say, "We are definitely looking into this. We'll keep you posted on updates as soon as more info is available." Sony had previously said there would be universal instrument-rhythm game compatibility. The Xbox 360 drum sets seem to work with each respective game. We're working to independently confirm compatibility as we fill in the blanks to our Instrument Compatibility Matrix.

WTF??? A patch better be available by the time I get the game for Christmas. I already bought it and will definately be taking it back if they don't get it working. I already hated Harmonix after the crappy Wii port but I am really starting to think those guys literally have their heads up their asses when it comes to making compatible hardware.

Hopefully a patch will be released shortly to fix this.

Does anyone know if the Rock Band 1 drum kit is compatible with Guitar Hero:World T our for the PS3?

^It's not, however, you can get the RB1 disc and then pay to import the songs over to your PS3 version of RB2. Since all DLC works with both using this method you can obtain all the songs in RB and play them with GH:WT drums.

^ I'm a bit confused by your response... so I can't play drums in GH:WT using the RB 1 drum set?

I'm sorry I thought you asked if you could use the GH:WT set on RB1. The answer to your question is: Yes you can, GH:WT scales the notes on the drums down to just four when using the RB1 set.
