Reggie: No Wii Fit For US This Year, Japan Only

Just had a very brief chat with Reggie about Wii Fit. Not worth transcribing in its entirety right now, but the big news is that it's not hitting the US this year. It'll be out in Japan though. Reg says they're still doing research into the cost of the Wii Balance Board controller, but it'll cost more than your typical 50 dollar Wii game.
 

No surprise. All their cool stuff launches in Japan first - and makes us want it all the more.

Actually surprised this will even launch in Japan this year.

And surely this will set the Japanese charts alight. It might even become a "national obsession" to have one of these in the home, and get everyone to use it daily...

Wonder about the 42 mini games if they count a yoga move as a mini game or the wholes set of yoga moves as one mini game?

They have already started manufacturing the WiiBB. Yup. Opened up a whole new factory just for them. Consider the size of the WiiBB to the Wii. Hmmm....

I thought they announced at E3 that this was a January 08 release for the US?

 A true japanese craze over these things...like DDR craze or worse would give the Wii a very very good chance at passing the PS2 overall.
