Forums - General Discussion - McCain's Closing Argument

Its alright to be undecided for awhile, but I agree if you haven't made a decision by now you are just being indecisive or haven't been paying attention. Its hard for me to imagine driving up to a polling station unless I knew who I was going to vote for. If I didn't know, I just wouldn't vote.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

And frankly, shouldn't be allowed to vote because they haven't been educating themselves on the candidates.

If we had to take a test before we voted, 95% of all voters would be disqualified.

As of Sep 24th, the number of undecided voters was 18%. I find it hard to see 1 month later that the number is down to 4-5%.

Its A WEEK before the election...not a month.

Its been a very busy month. Lots of stuff has happened, and people make up their minds as the election comes closer. The election is a week away, why are you suprised people have made up their mind this close to election day?

So you're saying that snesboy was wrong to say that "most people have made up their minds" ... and as evidence you cite a poll that says that 82% of people have made up their minds?

[edit:  Oops, just noticed this is all a week old.  Oh well.]

"We will lower the cost of energy within months"

This is a very pretentious statement which ignores all the complexities behind energy prices and the realities of how much can be done within months. I don't expect McCain to have to live up to it though.

halogamer1989, just for your info, watching a movie in Spain costs 6€, not 16€, so inform yourself before spreading lies on your signature. And I know what I'm talking about: I AM from Spain and I'm currently writing from Spain. You call us poor but the biggest bank in Spain has had this year a 6 Billion Euro profit while US' biggest bank is bankrupt.

Think for yourself, at least for once.

PS: Ah, and most people in Spain don't give a f*** who win the election day because we have our own worries to think about.
