Just my opinion take it as a grain of salt...

Not a merger, I'd much rather Microsoft went software development route when back in he day and made their games exclusive to the Dreamcast and Gamecube, that would of probably hurt Sony more with Halo not being on their platform but available on two others and thrown a spin on gaming as it is today.

Of course in a merger ? I don't know I guess Wii+PS3? No RROD on the WiiPS3 combo and teh Cell and Blu-Ray fuzed with waggle and Shigeru Miyamoto could be groovy.

It could work if microsoft and sony merge since they target a certain audience and nintendo is more focus on expanding the market with family friendly games.

Uh, MS joined the console business to weaken Sony's influence on home entertainment

Nintendo have nothing to gain from joining with either of the other two

Not going to happen

 Unless the POWAH of greed were to play its role, if both MS and Sony found out they could earn more money by merging then being apart, they'd both do it in a flash.
