Never ever seen CS as a great game honestly.

Contra definetly deserves a place on there. It's co-op experience back in the day trumps anything we have today. Nothing like screwing your friend over on Level 3 by jumping too fast. Such good times and so much time wasted.

To continue the list a litte more with the older games:

Prince of Persia (old ones of course)

Wolfenstein 3D

Lemmings

.....

 

OT: And the lack of some games form the top 10 completely shattered any trust in the IGN readers.

Seems like this list was made by a person who can't realize that a game with only shades of brown and gray does not mean it's better.

maybe you never played CS with a clan on a league it was so amazing... so much presure you missed the shot then you were dead xD omg i can remember all fuck what a great time i had with it

Yeah but any tactica shooter before that had the same idea as that, the difference was that you could get better weapons by killing more in CS.

Id have to agree with alcohol that the list was created primarily by those who started gaming during the 5th/6th gen. Some of the exclusions leave no room for alternate interpretations.

Nah at those days it was quake 2, unreal tournament or CS and i think that CS was the first and only to have the zones and bombs thats what made it so tactical, you had to protect or atack zones on the map with 100% of microphone comunication with your friends to organize where and when to plant it
