Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gears of War 2 too violent for Germany and Japan

God I hate censorship. Seems like there is a bit of a double standard when rating movies and games especially.

Haha this is funny and a bit ironic. Both of these countrys were just brutal in WW2 of course we know of the german concentration camps, but man those Japs were savages in WW2, IMO they were almost as bad as the Nazis in that war. Now simple video games are deemed to violent.

I wonder if Germany gets to play Castle Wolfenstein.

War time Germany and Japan are nothing like and have nothing to do with the modern countries, they just have a certain line for violence in video games. More so Germany which has a history of it. For example, the people in Carmageddon were turned in Zombies (with green blood).

Also, Wolfenstein 3D is now banned, I think, because the use of the Swastika is a federal offense. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was modded to remove it so it was legal in Germany.

Hmm, pie.

Less people will be able to experience this game,.......sad.....T_T

I find it strange since this version has a family setting to shut down swearing and the blood

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

I'm glad I don't live in Japan or Germany.
