A snippet from the IGN preview…

The questionable option within the menu: you had the ability to turn on and off a suspicious “Use Headphones” switch. On the one hand, it could just be an option to adjust the sound equalizer so you’re not blowing out your eardrums. On the other hand, I was thinking that this could be an optional ability to separate and send the voice through optional headphones, but you don’t plug headphones into the Wii. If you want personal sound you have to plug into a sound system or directly into the television, so maybe this option sends voice through one audio channel and the in-game sound through the other? It was a feature I couldn’t test, but keep your ears peeled.

Could it mean that a headset is coming, or at least being looked at…or does it simply relate to the in-game music? We’ll have to wait on that one for now. Also, there is no mention of the Wii Speak/AC:CF bundle in this preview. I’ve emailed our rep to see if I could get a confirmation of that bundle.

Interesting. That would be pretty cool if they offered a headset also.

I also thought "maybe the headphone option will allow you to listen to music off of an sd card while you play the game, kind of like your character is wearing headphones" but then again, I think something like that would have been announced.

Hmmm...something Nintendo has maybe kept quiet about so far? Could turn out to be a nice surprise.

I just hope this isnt some kind of rumor like IGN did with Kid Icarus Wii...

Nah I've seen headphone options in games before, sometime it is in with the "Surround/stereo/mono" options.
