I really like this persons objections to some things in the game:

The lack of a mana system and the way how he shows it is broken (don't need upgrade some spells because can just recast them indefinately when they expire) I find is something really wrong with an RPG.

The same for the dog and exploring, it seems to ruin the exploration part since it highlights everything for you.

The armor system doesn't matter at a point, which takes away some good game elements trying to balance stats out.

The biggest downfall he brings up is the lack of real death or punishment, which I find quite poor, death should mean something. A lot.

Thanks for that link KylieDog. That is actually a pretty good user review. Looks like i wont be getting it for the PC now as from that review there isnt much challenge in the game for me. Im more traditional rpg.

The story is nothing special, but Albion is a believable world full of interesting people.
8.0 Graphics
The environments are impressive, and there’s a wide variety of looks for your character. The spells are visually potent.
8.5 Sound
Solid voice acting and a script packed with humor. The music takes some unexpected, but welcome, turns.
8.5 Gameplay
The combat system is a success and for the most part, the economic and morality systems work well, and the dog is a great addition. The co-op, though, is not up to par.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
The main quest is short, but there are numerous other distractions. If you invest yourself in Fable II, you can spend easily spend 30 hours in Albion. If not, you can truck through in under 10 hours.
8.8
Great
OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

I understand that the overall is not the average, but how does it get an 8.8 overall when it didn't score higher then 8.5 on any of the categories??

It's how the reviewer felt about the game as a whole of it's parts... a game is not always a sum of it's parts

Except that you can get terrribly scared if you don't have a ressurection potion... this will alter the way people view you.

Gamespot review in

8.5/10

The Good

* Huge world to explore with tons of awesome details
* Your pet dog provides a strong emotional link to Albion
* Laugh-out-loud funny
* Lots of different quest types
* Enchanting graphics and moving music.

The Bad

* Making money is way too easy
* Story and characters lack depth
* Good and evil paths don’t seem well-balanced
* Lousy map.

Sry, but the score doesn't add up to me.  The IGN review looked rushed, imho.  The Gamespot says making money is too easy...wtf...story lacks depth...HUH?

Just picked up my copy...even the booklet is cool...this game just reeks of must have...

One cool thing I've jsut read on...Fast Travel...get's you there, but you STILL spend the time, so you have to plan accordingly. You can't cheat...so if you think you can jump back home ofr the birht of ur 1st kid, when hundred of miles away...nope! Some crimes:

Assault - attacking with spells

Drunk and Disorderly conduct

Public indency

ROFLOL...I can't wait...damn I'm playing hooky from work!

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Yeah, but the text of the gamespot review was really good. :P

Check out the closing comment, lol:

It's hard not to get sucked into Fable II. The world is so charming and your choices so profound, that it's easy to look past the game's shortcomings. The punishment for death is pointless and the story carries little weight, but the experience is still immensely rewarding. It's easy to lose hours to trivial tasks, and discovering all the secrets tucked away creates a truly memorable adventure. The new ideas presented here may not change the future of gaming, but there are some noteworthy additions that make this feel completely unique. Your emotional attachment to your virtual dog will be real, making you reliant upon his companionship as you trek through these lands. In a game about choices, the wisest one you can make is to play the game. After spending a few hours in Albion, you won't want to do anything else.

I haven't seen a review yet that says "Don't immediately buy this."

Gamespot's review doesn't seem to match Arstech... in fact they seem to contridict eachother... I wonder if this is a diffrence of play style?
