The big number everyone notices is the 47.2% global marketshare for the Wii on the front of VGC.

However, that is mainly the result of market domination in Japan (68.6% of consoles). It is just 43.9% in tnhe Americas and 43.4% in the Others.

Do developers see this, think of who is buying the Wii, and take a "Ubisoft" approach -- "Let's make games for children, teen girls, and casuals and make lots of money. We'll put our harder-edged stuff on the HD consoles. If Wii owners want it, they will buy a PS3 or Xbox 360 -- and many already have them anyway."

Why else would Namco-Bandai be hesitant to bring Fragile to North America. (NOA hesitating on Disaster may be some of this internally, but may also have to do with fears pent up in Americans over the events of the past few years).

After all, they are ignoring the current trends where in both Americas and Others that the Wii continues to gain marketshare and often/usually outsells the HD consoles combined.

I like what I have on the Wii. But it could use some more game variety. After all, there is not really many good ideas left for minigame collections.

That would be a silly reason. Have you ever played Alone in the Dark (the new lame one)? Pratically all New York city is in rumbles... I know Nintendo isn't Atari, but that would be stupid.

Also, maybe Namco is hesitant to bring Fragile here to North America because seeing how Soul Calibur Legends didn't sell very well here (and it wasn't really considered a casual game), they might not see the point of investing money for just a few more thousand copies sold. Soul Calibur isn't exactly a new IP either, so maybe the game just didn't appeal to the audience of Wii owners (or maybe the game just sucks, who knows)? Honestly, I'd buy it, but if the current appeal is to games like Carnival Games, Wii Play, etc., I would find it a bit hard to make a decision in their place.

When is the time Namco bandai was hesitant to localized Fragile anyway? That didnt make sense...

And Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata flopped... Well, Microsoft probably paid most the game so maybe Nintendo should start giving checks.

Bingo!  This is just a weird console war. Games that are selling shouldn't sell and games that should come over are not.  If this was PS2 days, all of those games would have came over.

sad but true,wii  not matter how it outsell the consoles it nots getting big titles.

they are staying on HD ps3 <---> 360, and are selling millions.

look at sport games, fighters and FPS.

So the reason why Wii dont have big titles because MS and SONY paying 3rd parties?!! THATS BAD no wonder 3rd parties still keep developing big titles on HD consoles even every week its not the console of choice to develop for!
