Forums - Nintendo - Should Nintendo start producing Wavebirds again?

With "Brand new factory sealed!" Wavebirds commanding prices of $68 to $85 on Amazon.com -- and considering the Wavebird originally started at $30 ($40?) and got as low as $20 new in stores -- I think that Nintendo could do worse than to dust off the old blueprints for at least one more production run.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

Ebay is your friend

Also, have you tried Wal-Mart? I've never looked for them there but could be worth a shot.

Hell at Gamestation they sell preowned Wavebird controllers for £5 - got one myself months ago, it's an absolute bargain price, nothing wrong with it either :)

yeah I've been looking for a Wavebird for a long time. I have a whole bunch of wired controllers but they're a real pain. One of my friends gave up and bought a third party wireless controller... unplayable (I refuse to purchase third party controllers since the last one I purchased)

The wavebirds are especially essential seeing as GC cables are so ridiculously short for the controllers. :(

The short cables are the reason why the GC has been built so robust. Due to the short cables you have to put the GC on the floor and every once in a while someone who walks by kicks the GC and it lands on its side while still rotating the disc and playing the game without a problem. This happened three times to my GC.

I still had a great experience, I LOVE the lunchbox.

Or they could, you know, have made longer cables. Seems a much simpler solution to the problem ;)

lol, do I detect a 'tiny' inkling of sarcasm in that post? :P

I just recently got a Wii and bought a wired gamecube controller to play my first game (Wind Waker). Just as a curiosity, does the wavebird have rumble? If it doesn't I wont feel so bad for not getting it.

Nah the wavebirds don't have rumble, but what they do have is absolutely solid battery life, which I guess is a direct result of not having that.
