Oh and sorry for noob question but which support SLI? I can't find that info anywhere.

Both Mobos are the same price, so it really comes down to the expansion slots for me. Since I'm Getting an Evga Geforce 9800GT I was leading towards the MSI since it has the PCIe X16 2.0 slot, but idk if you NEED a 2.0 slot to run the card.

I think in order to run the video card you need a PCI-E 2.0 16x slot and the MSI AMD motherboard says it has one but the ASUS AMD doesn't say anything about having one.

So I think I'd go for the MSI mobo

you dont, my 9600GT is for PCIe 2.0 and it is is backwards compatible with PCIe x16. All current generation video cards gain no benefit from PCIe 2.0.

I have that ASUS motherboard. It's a great MOBO. ASUS one do support SLI , I am sure the other one does also.

well if anyone can confirm that the MSI one DOES support SLI then I'm totally taking that one instead, if not then I'll use the ASUS

So are you planning to run SLI or no? (you DO knowwhat SLI is right?)
Both of those motherboards only have 1 PCI-E slot and don't support SLI.

about the PCI-E 2.0 question, ssj12 is right.
9800GT is backwards compatible with PCI-E 1.1 so it'll work on both mobos.
My 8800GTS is a PCI-E 2.0 card but works flawlessly on my mobo which only supports PCI-E 1.1

well idk if I wanna go SLI just yet... after all I'm searching parts for my FIRST build.

This is a really good choice. $66, no rebate. If you're gonna spend more money on a motherboard for SLI/Xfire you may as well get a better card instead.
