I am still playing on my PS2 and I didn't have finished yet 50% of the games I have on it. Why the hell did Sony release a console so fast anyway.

We're probably not even half way through this gen yet so don't worry :)

You can blame the "jump" to HD graphics. |
i think i will blame the wii staying last gen graphic wise, and games going to it casual.

The Wii doesn't have anything to do with Square Enix not releasing games. The HD graphics jump really did slow down the main franchises - I don't see how you can "blame" the Wii for anything really.
@All worried people: Why worry? Unless you have to compulsively buy novelties and abandon older games and consoles, disregarding quality and every aspect different from novelty, but in that case I'd advise to seek help, you aren't forced to stop playing older games you like: either through BC or keeping your older console, even buying a new one at bargain price, if it broke, you'll be able to play older games you like for a very long time. The only games at risk are the most niche amongst online multiplayer games, that having smaller communities, could lose players up to make necessary online services unsustainable and fade away faster than those with big and faithful communities (UO, for example, is still alive, despite its old age and crude graphics).

lol 10 years is a long commitment. PS2 is only in year 7 or 8 i think so Sony will support it for another 2-3 years!! By that time they're thinking about Playstation 4.
