Well Christmas is important, but all he was trying to say is it's not the most important this generation. In all likelihood it's going to be a Nintendo mascacre this holiday season, with the Wii and DS selling far more than any other system. The gap between the PS3 and 360 will be much much closer than the 360 and Wii I believe. I think both the 360 and PS3 will perform better in the holiday season of 2008 after their next round of price cuts and when their lineup of games is more varied. 2007 is important to keep the third parties, but Sony won't be in major trouble there unless the 360 puts up near Wii numbers, which I can't see happening. 2008 will be more important to which system has the real momentum in the console race.
