Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is 384 kbps (wireless) good enough for online gaming?

You'll do fine, I play perfectly at 100kbps on my PS3

its wireless though. anyone here on wireless that can tell me of the situation?

You won't get that much of a performance degrade unless your console is far away from the router if your above or below it's location it shouldn't be an issue.

I seriously do not think you people with under 512kb connections know what you are talking about. I would lag on PSN with 16mbps... It probably depends on the game and the host quite a bit, but for CoD4, they chose the most retarded people as hosts and it was always laggy even with my fast connection. I have Xbox Live as well and with that same connection I never lagged, had full green, and was often host...

It will just depend on the host and the game. Just don't take these people for their word and then go off to find you are lagging quite often, which will probably be the case in a few games.

depends... i had a similar issues setting up an xbox for a friend.. whts ur upload speed like.. should be 256k atleast for optimum gameplay.. and ping times..

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

@nightsurge
Latency much more important than bandwidth for online gaming and it is dependent on your ISP.
