Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is 384 kbps (wireless) good enough for online gaming?

Well, is it? I'm moving houses and the only internet I can get in that place is a 384 kbps wireless connection. Will I be able to play decently on my PS3?

I've played on less so it should be fine.

You'll be lucky to play without noticeable lag. The least I have ever used online was 512kb and with a decent host, I wouldn't lag, but on bigger games of 12 people or more, you better get to know the yellow and red ping... especially if it is wireless and on the PSN.

Si. I have a MAX of 365K and I play on PSN quite fin.

384kps? Are you using a cell phone as a modem?

Not joking, just wondering... because I used to use my MDA as a modem for my laptop at work and those are the speeds i got.

so.. no definitive words on whether or not it's going to be ok?

i'm pretty sure it'll be more than enough if your not using any bandwith eating applications ( Torrent , Video stream etc) at the same time.

well i'll only be using a ps3 with it. no other thing.
