Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 1UP WiiMusic review in... A-

"The biggest downfall of Wii Music, oddly, is the music itself. While songs like "Material Girl" or "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" are easy crowd pleasers, Nintendo is still stuck in that horrifying pattern of relying mostly on public domain pablum (remember "Row Row Row Your Boat" in Donkey Konga?); the song selection is still just not wide enough. Especially in the minigames, discovering you can't unlock more than the five available songs is disappointing once the game has whetted your appetite for more. I really wanted additional songs in Handbell Harmony -- I loved the mode where the notes only get played when everyone in the group has hit the right rhythm."

This right here is my main problem with the game. About half the library looks like crap to me. Too bad Nintendo didn't implement DLC with this one.

I'm not surprised by the score, the game was reviewed by a non gamer who is a 34 year old lady with a toddler.

And she plays Ratchet & Clank, just like you. You should get Wii Music, you'd probably like it.

Jennifer Tsao

Jennifer represents a sort of Moore's Law of gaming. She started off in the arcades back in the '80s. Then she moved over to PCs in the '90s. By the year 2000, she'd downsized to consoles. And now, she's basically all about portable games. Next up? Bionic implants, baby.

Current Favorites: Pokémon Diamond/Pearl, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters

Good, we need more diversity in game reviewers.

A-...very nice and surprising

This is just the beginning.

People are raving at the reviews Little Big Planet is getting, saying that it'll crash and burn. But people are finally beginning to accept that LBP will lead the ps3 into next year.

Wii Music was hated on 2wice as hard, but it will trampled anyone who remains 'offended' by this game.

Wii music will be a 85+ title.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is the best Zelda title ever made.

I agree, its never a good thing to have people review a game that they are not a fan off.  If places are able to have reviewers from a wide demograhic then all sorts of games will get the scores they deserve based on the target audience.  No point having a sports fan review wii music, or Casual sort of gamer review MP or CoD.

Wow, a higher score than I expected but I never doubted this game.

Jennifer Tsao: Cute as hell, and apparently the only Wii reviewer on 1UP worth a damn.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
