Is it going to die on me?? I hope not as I don't want to have to ship it off to MS.

Is there anything I can do? Clearing the HDD cache, factory reset(do they have them?), anything to make it work again?

Get a PS3.

This is a good solution... but what you have is related to RROD. Systems tend to freeze before getting the three lights.

you can try and punch it, workes not very often though.

It seems you gonna get rrod, at the worst time.

try to listening to it let it talk to you, comfort it, if it cries "Be the shoulder to cry on". Give it a hug.

If all else fails just wait it out hopefully it will just be temp thing but probably something more sinister.

Heads up, I'm handing out warnings and bans for anyone suggesting a PS3 as an answer to this man's problem. I've already handed out two, and I'm more than willing to keep it going.

If anyone is wondering why, it's because he is asking for helping with fixing his currently owned system and not asking for what he should get as a replacement. If someone were asking for help on how to fix a problem with their car, you do not tell them to buy a new car, you either help them if you have the know how, or you be quiet.

Anyway, it's just gone RROD. Now I have to wait ages until I can borrow the spare one from work tomorrow. MS said it will be about 3 weeks.

when is it freezing up and if only on games is it every game or just some games... also when was your console manufactured... it should be on the back of the system.
