Forums - Microsoft - My xbox died...again

Well my xbox died for the second time except this time i actually did get the 3 red rings. I called microsoft and they said they would cover it if i mail it to them though it annoys me that there not providing me with a box this time. My first xbox broke a year after I got it and this one broke exactly a year after I was sent the replacement. Its annoying im gonna have to wait to play all the great holiday games (I just bought dead space and when I booted the console up it was broken).

Frankly Im pissed micosoft didn't give me the motherboard that isnt prone to red ringing and I'm scared my replacement copy will have the loudass drive instead of my nice quiet benq drive.

I love the games you have for your console but fuck you, micosoft for sending out products that don't meet a certain standard of quality

The second RROD is what sealed the deal for me. Sold the one I got returned and bought the then newly launched PS3. Unfortunatly 360's were worth more those days. Nowadays selling a used 360 simply isn't worth it financially, especially if you bought it a year or more ago.

Anyway, I do know modding your console really stirs up the market value if you want to sell, but you did not hear that tip from me.

Good luck and hope your wait isn't too long.

Especially if the console gets banned on live. You are to make a fortune then on the used market.

I don't have a 360 myself, but from what I have heard from a friend who loves not paying for games he can easily stealthpatch them and go by undetected. From what he just said over MSN, I understood that only the dumbest pirates get caught.

Anyway, I have a PS3, so no piracy even if I wanted too.

About your last statement, I wouldn't bet this will last forever, especially as userbase widens...

Well, for now they seem to have lasted for almost 2 years where everyone expected them to be cracked in a few weeks. Let's just say the PS3 isn't the prirates choice of console right now. No telling what the future will bring though, although I expect them to last very long without any crack.

However, it has been said that Microsoft also owns a part of the succes of their operating system (windows) to the fact that it can easily be cracked. Suppose it would be uncrackable and all those smart ass hackers would start toying with Linux and making that as complete as possible. Theire would be no way MS could make such huge profits when competing against a free product.
