Japan:I am going to guess mid September - because Japan is going to get the most increased shipments

America: Rolstoppable said: "This is the toughest to guess", I agree. I say a little earlier here though May 2008, strong holiday and Nintendo Catching up with production by then (hopefully, or I am going to be totally off)

Others: February 2008 (Game companies almost always screw Europe.

World: March 2008, same here.

Remember only one of the big 4 are out for 06-07 (Z:TP). DQ:S just shipped in Japan, and is basically sold out. If Wii Fit or Mario Kart Wii actually comes out in Jan/Feb than these numbers AND get production up will even be faster.

Of course even faster production may not be good for Nintendo if it costs them too much, or leaves them with too much baggage for the future.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Oh no! Sales have shrunk by a massive 590,000 units in only one generation! The gaming industry is doomed!

 1. The Gameboy advance sold a hell of a lot less than the gameboy.

2. going an entire generation with absolutely no growth is horrible.

@shams. The N64's cartridge completely deprived it of RPG's. I'm suprised it managed to sell as well as it did.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

If you simply look at Japaneese sales for Nintendo based systems this is what you have:

  1. Gameboy (32.47 Million)
  2. Nintendo Entertainment System (19.23 Million)
  3. Super Nintendo Entertainment System (17.15 Million)
  4. Nintendo DS (18.29 Million)
  5. Gameboy Advance (16.66 Million)
  6. N64 (5.55 Million)
  7. Gamecube (4.02 Million)
  8. Wii (3.10 Million)

as you can tell nintendo isnt faring well in japan its a decrease everytime a successor comes out..expect the DS

That's a poor assesment, 1 N64 is before GBA and DS but both sold better then it. 2. GB vs GBA is a BAD Example as GB had nearly a 20 year life span compared to GBA's ... what 5? 3. Wii not even 1 year Vs GC's 5  Also from what I read Gameboy, GBA GBC etc combined sold about 79.46 million (worldwide)

I hope it's not to soon. From the looks of things, it's more and more likely that the Gamecube is going to be Nintendo's last amazing console. I hope the Wii can live up to the Gamecube, but I'm afraid this isn't gonna happen... Maybe I'm wrong, though. I think the Wii will pass the Gamceube in Japan in no time, same with Others. I'll go with March 08. There's no telling how long it will take to pass in America... When the Wii does catch the Gamecube I think the numbers will look like what PSP is doing with spred out numbers.

The DS "has a chance" to beat the gameboy? It should be changed to the "DS has a chance to beat the gameboy in 2 years".

The DS has Japan on lockdown. 35m is easy, and considering the GB took 11 years to sell 32m units, and the DS has sold more than half of that in under 3 years is pretty freaking good. Expecially with the fact the DS is no longer supply constrained, and still doing 100k+ a week, and more with big games (Zelda PH).

The Wii should pass the GC in about 12 weeks in Japan. More importantly, I have a sneaking suspicion the Wii will easily beat the NES at some point as well too.

GC LTD, it should beat the 22m-ish milion by around July or August 2008. By March 2008, it should be near the 20m mark, after that it just depends on if the Wii keeps selling at, lower, or better than the rate it is now. It could even get to the GC mark by May, at earliest.

Next mark would be the N64's numbers. It could hit N64s numbers by March 2009.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
