Actually, the Wii Music hate started with the E3 bad presentation of the game, but latest hands on and previews of the game has been actually very positive.

It could be a game with an average rating of 8.

I don't see how that's likely. So far it has only received a single score above 8. I think it has a shot at 7, but 8 is reaching.

I'm no good at predicting Japan... but in NA I expect it to sell around 350K the first week and it to stabilize around 100k for the rest of the year because of the christmas shopping season..
