It is looking up for the Wii in terms of Rockstar support, no doubt. I think the big question is not whether we'll get a GTA but will it be 1)GTAIV, 2)a compilation of the previous 3D GTAs or 3)a new Wii GTA.

I'm betting number 2, followed by 1,with 3 bringing up the rear.

GTA4? Hmm, Wii is too weak for such game. Rage is a next gen. Maybe they will create new sequel for PS2, PSP and Wii on the old engine. Who knows. I wouldn't expect solid game though.

yes rockstar seems go be going more Wii but I would not say GTA4 is comming to the Wii eather, or it will be rebuilt from the start, still a independant Wii version is more likely

The 360 table tennis game being ported to Wii uses Rage, so unless Rockstar builds a new engine from scratch it proves that Wii can run the engine in some form at least. It would take time but if they were to reduce draw distance, poly counts, etc on top of the drop in resolution to SD I wouldn't discount GTAIV being viable on Wii.

I doubt GTA 4 will make the shift to wii, since it is seemingly nearing the end of production.. however, if these rockstar games are successful (moreso than the other consoles this gen) on the wii, then I think it is highly likely that Wii will receive GTA in some form in the future

But what i found more worrying: Where are the PS3 games from Rockstar... PS3 looks like Gamecube in that way! The only difference is GTA4.... But that game was announced before the PS3 was actually in stores! That game was announced in the thought that the PS3 would do REALLY WELL, just like its predecessors did! This hasn't happened. And GTA4 is still coming to PS3... And X360! But NO new announcements have made! And hearing that Manhunt 2 isn't going to PS2's big brother! But Nintendo's Wii! Is worrying for PS3-Rockstar future games.

E.i.g: Good for Nintendo to have BIG Rockstar support! But it's looking like PS3 is heading in the Gamecube way (Which is worrying since Nintendo had a system on which they made profit on from the beginning, which is why they ended up having more revenue then Sony with the PS2... And they are selling the PS3 with losses, or at least they did... And now with the Price-cut are doing so again! And the CELL development!)

Well, the PS3 does play PS2 games, so remaking some of these games for the PS3 when they're already on the PS2 would be a tad pointless.

If wii ever gets a GTA game, it will most likely be spin-offs like the ones for psp.

You know, just because some fanboys pissed on us GCN guys when it was down doesn't mean we have to repay the favor with every bit of good Wii news.

This is good news for Nintendo, good news for the 360, and I think good news for the industry. Sony isn't losing anything in this case. Instead you have a 3rd party branching out and diversifying. That's got to be good for gaming as a whole.

As for GTA, if it were on the Wii I expect them to go the RE route and make it a side game rather than a port of existing titles.

Hmm...

A Grand Theft Auto minigame collection in Raving Rabids style...

Whack-a-ho...
Snitch Hunt...
Pimp Daddy Dancing...

I don't even wanna know what the plungers would be used for...

I really think things are starting to change on the Wii front. Namco, Sega, EA, Eidos and now Rockstar are shifting! Time to see the bulk of new games exclusive to Nintendo...
