Forums - Sales Discussion - 360 battered PS3 in the US last month, says Pachter

Let us hope the 300k figure is wrong.

VGChartz has it at 429k right?

PS3 would wind up overtracked as well.

To be honest though I wouldn't trust Pachter as far as I can throw him.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

You would hope they would at half the price on of the PS3. The Ps3 is doing a great job considering its price overall

No, that does not make sense. The 360 is also as expensive as the PS3. I would not consider the PS3 doing "great" considering its price. The PS3 has had $200 in price cuts and it is not even two years old. I hoped it would be selling better.

Microsoft are under the impression that no gaming markets exist outside America.

Someone needs to tell the Japanese fast!

I think most of them have got the message.

"We estimate sell-through of 600,000 Wii, 300,000 Xbox 360 and 175,000 PS3 consoles. Our console sell-through forecasts reflect our belief that supplies for Wii hardware increased this month, as some portion of increased Wii production that started in July likely finally found its way to retail late in the month. Similarly, we believe that Xbox 360 demand increased after the September price cuts, with some market share gain likely over the PS3."

Before all the PS3 Fanbots say it ill say it!

"Tehy hAvNT UNloCk3d TeH fULl P0W3r of Teh PS3"

"ThIs GuY Is So a 360 FaNbOt"

"PS3 wIlL sTilL oUtSeLl 360 WW"

now i got that out of the way let me say good job MS,it was a smart move not including HD-DVD.

If 360 only does 300K in a 5 week month with a huge price drop, when it did more than 200K last month, which was just 4 weeks, that's terrible numbers.

Anything less than 400K would be pathetic.

Are we all forgetting what other significant event happened in September that MIGHT affect the sales of high end luxury electronics? Something about an economic slump? The beginning of the biggest point drop in American stock market history?

i think the 360 is higher than that. like 50k higher. also i dont think ps3 is that low. it should at least do 200k

i feel sorry for ps3  then! but realistically he is right, 360 should do 400k with the current price.

You are a well known pro-sony troll raising expectations over what's to be rationally expected so the 360 NPD results end up being perceived as disappointing instead of being perceived as positive because they'll end up being way higher than the ps3 results.

Transparent.
