Forums - Gaming - Once you admit you're a fanboy, you'll be free.

We're all fanboys here, except for that contingent of board users who are fangirls instead. We wouldn't BE here if we weren't. The only real differences between us are in how far we go, what direction we go, and how much we're aware of our own fanboyism.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

I'm a PC and I wear headbands and I can also have a beard. This is my office. Got a problem with that?!

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

I admit it: I am PC fanboy and a bad Wii fanboy.

I decided to buy me a Wii a year ago because:

1) It was less expensive one
2) The 360 was only about shooters which will end up in PC anyways
3) The ps3 was (by the time) more expensive that upgrading my PC
4) I also wanted a social, healthy, family, social videogaming experience
5) It was seling well, so I thought, it will have a lot of third party support and lots good games (I don't know yet if I was wrong)
6) It is pretty cool

I was too rational to be a good fanboy. Besides, I really would like to buy be a ps2 and 360 and ps3. That sounds like betrayal... However, I enjoy some facts around the Nintendo Wii:

1) It was the little system that could
2) It's a winner and I am a litle part of its success
3) It's so cute the others hate it

So, yes I am a fanboy!
(There, I said it)
