I have recently rekindled my love of comic books(mostly Aliens Predator and Futurama) and while at the Rock and Shock Horror Movie Convention in Massachutes I saw a Gears of War comic. It being comic #1 and only $4 I figured Id pick it up. So heres the impressions:
The art is nice and as graphic as you would expect of a comic based on the planet of Serra. It takes place two months after Gears 1 and makes multiple references to the original game as both Marcus and Dom are in the comic. All the weapons and Locust baddies you would expect are there.
Story is kind of weak so far, no background on the new characters.
STILL no explanation as to why COG soldiers have no standarized type of head armor.
Locust stupidity and numbers are well accounted for.
Seems short as hell.....maybe 20 pages. It also seems to be a comic series that will tell one story then the next under the "Gears of War" name(ie: the comic series will not be named "Gears of War:Alpha Mission" or something to that extent).
Ill definitely pick up book two when it comes out because, its ok thus far and for $4 why the hell not......I spend money useless crap all the time.
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
