Normal, unless it's by Capcom. Then I play on easy. It's all that stupid spider on Devil May Cry's fault.

Start on normal and move up.

I usually play my Zelda and RPG games on "hard"

I always have intentions of upping the difficulty on a second playthrough, but rarely do so. I usually just end up playing everything on normal multiple times. For me hard =/= fun. For most games, an increase in difficulty merely means more cheap tactics by the AI.

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

There are artificial ways to up the difficulty in Zelda such as refusing to pick up container hearts.

Depends on the game to be honest. I like challenge. Mostly i go for hard. Kigdom hearts 2 to be enjoyable for me has to be played on proud, or it's a cakewalk, even on proud is easy, but at least is enjoyable.
