The sad part is, no one else caught on.
What a sad topic. 360 is winning right now, but once PS3 drops to $299 (it could be a year or two away) PS3 will dominate the 360 everywhere. The Wii is in first, but no serious(core) gamer considers it a gaming machine anymore, nor do game reviewers. Its like saying the Ipod sells better than the PS3, so it is in 1st. Yes the Ipod plays games, but not good ones. Same situation. The real fight is PS3 vs 360, and right now the 360 has the edge.

You need to move out of the denial phase already, it's very alarming and worrying that people are still living in their own world inside a bubble. Please seek for personal help if you can't get out of the denial phase. Once you reach the acceptance phase, your life will change for good. =)

A couple of price cuts and people freak out...
Look at it this way. The 3660's price is now about as low as it can go in Europe and Japan to spur sales. Any price drops from here on out won't do a thing. Once the spikes from the recent price drops go down, there's not much left for the 360 in these territories (outside of a very brief spike for the 360 in Japan when SO4 hits). Microsoft still has room to grow sales in NA, but that's about it.
Compare this to the ps3, which is still VERY expensive in all regions. Sony has plenty of ways to spur sales, from price drops to the release of games like LittleBigPlanet (potentially a system seller), God of War III, and the full Gran Turismo 5. And then there's the fact that Final Fantasy XIII is still exclusive in Japan.
The ps3 is by no means destined to third place, and I believe it will still end up taking second.
The PS3 may or may not end up in second place.
The only surety is that by the time it does the milestone will, for all practical purposes from both Sony and consumer's point of view, be irrelevant.
