Forums - General Discussion - Sarah Palin abused power ...

The investigation started before she was ever picked for VP, or before anyone even thought she would be McCain's VP choice (which was pretty much until he announced it).

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

LIBERAL LIES!
liberals knew she would be considered for VP pick and started early so they could make it seem like it wasn't political. This is no different than OSAMA's connection to Terrorist Ayers, in fact she looks like a saint compared to that.

im not surprised.... considering the comments of the democrat heading up the committee. it certainly wasnt an unbiased investigation. yet they even admit she had reason to fire him...

The comission that read and voted to release the document contained 10 republicans and 4 democrats. Plus, the person who sued palin to have her private e-mails viewed was a republican. How is this partisan?

the report hasnt even been endorsed by the commitee

she has had issues within her party

the report does not recommend sanctions or a criminal investigation.(because there wasnt any actual violation of the law)

Monegan himself said she never asked him to fire wooten.

wooten admitted he did all the things

here is monegans response to this ""I feel vindicated," Monegan said. "It sounds like they've validated my belief and opinions."... his beliefs and opinions... thats all this ever was.

Palin violated state ethics law.  The findings of the investigator do not recommend charges be brought up, but Monegan will have grounds to file suit in court.

"Beliefs and opinions"?  That's what you have to say about this?  What do you think an ethical code is based on?

Looks like Palin isn't a maverick.... just a typical corrupt politician lying through her teeth.  This is the nail in the coffin.... in 4 weeks Obama will take the vote with a 5-6 point lead.

even if she did what he claims it isnt a violation of the law.  but of course she didnt, so its irrelevant.

yeah...it was his beliefs and opinions.  monegan "felt"  that the real reason he was fired was because of wooten.  surprising someone not being happy when they are fired and wanting to get back at the person that fired them.

You seriously need to take off the blinders here.  The reason there was this huge, exhaustive investigation was to find out if Monegan was just trying to get back at Palin for firing him or if there was indeed an abuse of power and/or wrongful firing.

I don't think the investigation concludes a wrongful firing, as it is a right of the governor to fire staff, but by violating a state ethics LAW there is at least an abuse of power, and Monegan WILL have recourse to press charges now if he chooses.

Are you saying you understand the entire situation of this case better than the investigators who've spent the last couple months on this, talked to countless witnesses and gone over countless public records/recordings/emails etc?  Cause that's what it sounds like you're saying :P

He 'felt' that was why he was fired - and the panel said the Wooten incident WAS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR.

One piece of advice - turn off Bill-O and Vanity Hannity - they will make you feel like you are in Rapture, son.

wonder why it hasnt even been endorsed by the committee....

but since she didnt violate any LAW....all he can do is continue to throw his feelings around

i know that monegan stated she never spoke to him about it.  and that it was just a feeling he had that it was related to wooten.   (btw you might not want to tell people you cant count to 24)

It is so pointless arguing with mrbubbles. I will not give into his baiting however.... it's a sad enough life to suffer that level of ignorance without me making it worse for him :(

bottom line, abuse of power, clear as day, election = obama's.
