No no it's not that... DS is for EVERYONE and PSP is for hardcore gamers... i love playing games on my DS... it feels like playing a handheld, that's why i had EVERY SINGLE Game Boy there ever was... And if numbers tell something then compare the sales of Nintendogs and MGS:PO and you will see ;) But you have your eyes closed to everything that's not Sony. I Love my PS2 but the PSP is just dumb. Sony is failing and you have to accept that... in the Walkman division it's going downhill, in the LCD TV's downhill, in the portable gaming i can't even describe how horrible they are, they try to create a small copy of PS2 and sell it as portable... PSP is GREAT for multimedia fans... i had my PSP since launch day and still i have spent much more hours playing my DS. And Pokemon are not just for kids... name me ONE Sony franchise as successful as Pokemon, Mario, Zelda. Sony is powerful but Nintendo is entertaining. Which one is more important in GAMES?!

Its kind of obvious why its not selling so well. Its the Price. Ask anybody if the DS and the PSP where the same price they would buy the PSP. Maybe not to play games but they would buy the PSP. Same with the PS3. If it was as cheap as the 360 they would get the PS3.

I'm sorry, but some people aren't serious 24/7 and like to have a little fun joking now and then. But you have to admit, saying no one is going to trade their PSP for a DS is pretty absurd. Almost as absurd as no one owning a PSP.

i agree with gamingdevil the ds is alout funner then the psp in my opinion the only advantage they have is videos and mp3 but my ipod can do all that and has a shit load more memory if they were the same price i would by the ds lite and i thingk i just changed my i idea of a new psp the games are to simialar to ps2 games and like i said earlier i already have an ipod

Well, I'm 37. I owned a PSP for a year. I've owned a DS for 6 months. The DS is a better handheld than the PSP. Yes, that's my opinion, but obviously most agree with me considering the sales numbers. And no, I haven't played Pokemon or Nintendogs. I play FFIII, Brain Age, Elite Beat Agents, Hotel Dusk, and Trauma Center. Nothing kiddie about those games and you won't find anything like the on the PSP. But I can play just about all the PSP games on my PS2. If you had ever played the Wii, you would claim it was for children. As far as sales, Sony's numbers are inflated because they are units shipped, not sold to customers as Nintendo's are. Doesn't matter. Any way you count the sales, the DS is beating the crap out of the PSP and the Wii is beating the crap out of the PS3. If that's making a big mistake.....then Sony is wishing they could screw up as bad.

it really is obvious that the DS is selling so much better than the PSP beacuse it is more than half the price. The same thing is going on with the Wii and the PS3. There are too many Ninty fanboys here. You seem to love the sight of Sony not doing so well. Just chill out ok. I could be wrong about that, but not from what I've seen.

Not sure what you are trying to say about the price difference. PSP is $199. DS is $129. Saying it all because of price is a gross over simplification. At E3 last year, the Wii was the hit of the show and received much more attention from attendees than the PS3 and that was before the Wii price had been announced. The DS didn't not start beating the PSP handily in sales until the DS lite was released. Yes, price is a factor, but it is just one of many factors why Nintendo is beating Sony.
