Hey everyone!

This is actually my first post here.

I just got myself a PS2 for about 40$ and now I need some games, and then I wondered about what games I should get!

I can play almost any type of game, but the games I truly love the most are RPG and platform games.

So, what games should i get?

If you come with some tips I will be happy :)

I recommend Final Fantasy XII, ICO, and Shadow of the Colossus.

These will start off your diet right.

I'm only going to list stuff that is still available new, usually as greatest-hits titles. There are soooo many good platformer and RPG games on the PS2, its mind-boggling.

Odin Sphere (not sure if it really counts as a RPG, but its awesome)


...to name just a few off the top of my head.

I really love Final Fantasy, but the little I saw of FF XII I didn´t like that much. I especially hate that they have changed the battling so much! But I´ll check out the other two ^^

GRAN TURISMO 3 and 4 , FF 10 and Tekken 5

Well, give FFXII a rent anyway. It could grow on you.

For me it's probably the best FF game, so take it as you will.

I would give Star Ocean and Xenosaga a shot.

Odin Sphere (Side scrolling Action RPG)
Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal (Platforming/Shooter)
Shadow of the Colossus (Action/Adventure)
Disgaea (Strategy RPG)
Ico (Adventure)
Metal Gear Solid 2/3 (Tactical stealth espionage)
Resident Evil 4 (Shooter)

Those are probably my top PS2 games of the ones I've played (I own 30 PS2 games, but I know there are plenty more to try).

ICo & Shadow of Colossus are must have!!! if you can find it.

Groucho's above post hit a lot of the biggies, I personally enjoyed all of the them listed, though I never played Wild Arms 5. Here are a few others off the top of my head:

God of War 1 & 2 (awesome action adventure games)
Silent Hill 2, 3 and 4 (4 is a little different than 2, 3 but I enjoyed it)
Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 (re: Chain of Memories comes out this December as well)
Devil May Cry 1 & 3 (2 is good but not nearly as good as 1 and 3)
Rygar (may be hard to find)
Shinobi (may be hard to find and can be quite difficult)
Sly Cooper 1, 2 & 3 (1 is more of a straight platformer 2 & 3 are a little more open-ended)
Zone of the Enders 1 & 2 (They are a little short individually, but together make a great game)
Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 (Obviously very story driven, but I think its a great story as well as the gameplay)
Soul Calibur 2 & 3; Tekken 5 (All great fighting games)
