Itagaki is one of my all time favorite devs since Ninja gaiden Black. It would be great is he does join Microsoft.

I'm really hoping for some new Mistwalker stuff. I really don't care too much about Bungie.

MS is in a hiring freeze, so somehow I think them purchasing new dev studios is unlikely -- it would really upset some of their investors if that was true.

A hiring freeze has nothing to do with investments.  My company is in a hiring freeze right now.  They are doing a study to see how best to alter the way we are organized, because we have gotten big and bloated and as un-agile as could possibly be.  Hiring freezes for studies like these are so that everything is stabilized.  There is no telling for what reason a company starts a hiring freeze.

I realize TGS does pretty strong international news, but it just seems an odd place for Bungie to throw down something huge, doesn't it? Japan doesn't particularly care.
