Forums - General Discussion - Help I'm being attacked by malware/spyware/virus/madness.

No matter how many times I run Malware Guard, there are 8 infected registry items. And 6 infected files.

Process Explorer helped me kill processes, since "the administrator has disabled Task Manager" but this shit is still all crazy.

All my time stamps are in military time now and say VIRUS ALERT! at the end of them.

I recommend Unhackme (http://greatis.com/unhackme/) for finding invisible processes and annihilating bad shit on startup.

Helped me on some shit that normal AV and spyware scanners couldn't get.

How do I download a free tiral of UnHackMe? I can't find it. I click on the download trial button and then can't find a download link, just links to pay for it.

avast! 4 Home Edition FREE Download

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Yeah Avast is great.

There's a free evaluation version here - http://www.greatissoftware.com/unhackme.zip

Here are my problems:

1) My taskbar tells my time in military time but with no date, as 23:16: VIRUS ALERT!
2) Explorer gives my timestamps for every file and folder, for modified, created, last accessed, as time (in military time) colon date colon VIRUS ALERT!
3) My primary window switches at random every 45 seconds, so while I'm typing suddenly I'll be pausing WinAmp or something.
4) If I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete, I get a window that says "The Task Manager has been disabled by the system administrator."
5) When I hit the Start button, there is no "All Programs" or "Run" or "Control Panel" or anything other than my shortcuts, my most recently opened programs, and these 2 options: "Set Program Access and Defaults" and "Connect to."
6) If I click "Save As" on anything, absolutely nothing happens.
7) If I go to my ImageShack, and click on "Browse" to select an image to upload, absolutely nothing happens.
8) I get 2 or 3 pop-ups that aren't that bad, and I can actually close them, which is the only improvement after running LavaSoft AdAware, Malware Guard, Process Explorer, and Avast!.

$45-75, bring it to a professional. I'm drunk... I mean, I'm too tired to deal with your computer anymore.

These are my pop-ups.

When I either left-click or right-click the Start button, the Run option is no longer there. How else can I find this msconfig to boot in Safe Mode?

if you type those into google, you will find lots of pages of forums asking about the exact same popups. You can usually find the solution after about ~15 minutes of lurking.

that's what I do. Most of it does deal with registry edits and disabling of certain background programs that windows runs.

I had this problem once and I turned it off after I figured out the problem.

The problem is that the spyware hijacks your windows system message and adds in a bunch of bogus messages, usually adds and links. So the problem is that your antivirus will get rid of everything, but the windows system message program is legit so that never gets touched.

If you disable the windows system message thing, the whole thing should go away. (windows system messages, fortunately, is pretty useless anyways)

After that, stop looking at porn and your problems will all go away ^_^

You don't need to do that.  Just make sure the blockers are on.
