Forums - Nintendo - Marvelous to announce a new title at TGS from a "world famous" Japanese dev

"You really need to chill out, this is just a stupid post. No doubt you are a big fan of the PS3 but damn! anyone would think it is all you live for. In fact if you love the console so much, you should not be wasting your time writing stupid comments like the one above. Its like you are on a one man mission to have everyone love sony and the PS3. no one even mentioned the PS3 in this thread and you have come out guns blazing (looking like an ASS may i add), like someone was dissing the console.

Look the PS3 is a great console, not everybody thinks that but its just opinion, so just be happy that it makes you happy and contribute to the thread. Nothing good or relevent to say in this thread, then just post in another thread that actually interests you. In fact I a saw a thread about why people are hating on the PS3, maybe you should go and do your defensive renegade thing in there What do you think?

Now back on topic. I hope it is Matsuno, but i think it more likely to be Itagaki"

Another reactionary post from a Wii fan when they can't back up their opinions with facts then they start lobbing insults just like 360 fans I suppose.

My comments made quite a bit of sense. Someone here was saying it would be preferable to get a game from Matsuno rather than Kojima. However, if you go back and look at past reviews you see that Kojima's games all have higher review scores than Matsuno's (Including 2 9.8's, 9.7, and 2 10's at IGN among the scores for his games). The only reason to prefer a Matsuno game to a Kojima game based on past accomplishments would be due to something personal that one has against Kojima as it would certainly have nothing to do with the past game record of both developers, so what would be about the only thing a Nintendo fan could have against Kojima? Just the fact that he has made much better games than the majority of Nintendo games on Playstation and other competing consoles. That is just a purely logical extrapolation of why a Nintendo fan would prefer Matsuno games to a Kojima game (and again the original comment wasn't stated as a personal preference but in blanket statement form as if everyone would prefer a Matsuno game and such aa blanket statement adds up to a swipe at Kojima and at Sony as his best game is their best game).

At any rate, I hope it is not a Kojima game for the Wii as any game that he would spend much time to develop exclusively for that console would be a step back from Metal Gear Solid 4 and all of the experience that he gained in learning how to develop games for the PS3 during the development of MGS4. To make a better cinematic game than MGS 4, one would need a system that was more capable of making better cinematic games than the PS3, and at the moment there isn't a better console for cinematic games than the PS3. Advanced graphics technology, blu-ray, etc.

I hope that the next game that we see from Kojima is Policenauts II on the PS3. And I predict that this game being discussed in this article is not an Itagaki game either as a much more natural place for him to appear would be as the new director for MGS 5 (since the new main character of the series and its story arc are going to follow the development of the ninja Raiden things right up Itagaki's alley) again coming exclusively to the PS3.

Also this is probably not a game by Nomura, so that leaves Matsuno, Endo, etc.

My most anticipated games:  Whatever Hideo Kojima is going to do next, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake, Wii Sports Resort.  Cave Story Wiiware.

"Review scores mean exactly nothing at all."

Especially when they show that your console of worship which may be selling at a faster clip to company fanboys and non gamers, really only has a few games worth purchasing, right? And don't say the PS3 doesn't have that many great games either because as I've shown before the PS3 has well over 2 times as many games as the Wii with review scores in the 8.0-10.0 range listed at sites such as Metacritic and Game Rankings including the highest rated game of this generation Grand Theft Auto IV PS3 in other forum posts.

I know who Matsuno is. He made Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, and Final Fantasy XII. All good to great games. But also all still inferior to Kojima's games according to almost any credible review site.

@Paul_Warren: Stop being a stubborn kid and learn to accept that people have different tastes. Not everyone likes the same games, genres pf games or things like you do. Others may like RPGs more than staealth/action games, or maybe the art directions.

It has nothing to do with being fanboys of a consoles. Even a 10 from IGN hasn't made that the best game this generation so please remain silent and stop attacking people without reason.

I would like a Matsuno RPG for the Wii. I wouldn't mind a Kojima or Itagaki game though.

MGS4 is tied for first place according to IGN. And it is the best according to Play magazine direct descendant of DieHard Gamefan the Greatest American Video Game Magazine of All Time.

Game Rankings a site that averages all tastes says the PS3 has 55 games with scores between 8 and 10 while the Wii only has 19.

@Paul_Trollen: What does the last part of your post have to do with anything? Stop trolling, you are tiresome.

Anyways I'll answer you, the majority of sites don't review Wii games. If you go to gamerankings and switch to minimum reviews = 5 you will find a more games with 10 - 19 reviews that have a score of 80% or more. For example Tiger Woods 09 only has 9 reviews, but it's score is in the 80%.

The media hates the Wii, just as much as you do. The good thing is that the majority of people decide what's good or not, not the media, who aren't objective and want the Wii to fail.

Paul_Warren why don't you go play your awesome toy and leave the Nintendo fans discuss about their awesome toy in peace ?

@Paul_Warren

I'm glad your enjoyment of games is dependent on little numbers from the internet.

So anyway, yeah

I'm hoping for a tactical RPG from Matsuno in the spirit of Ogre Battle, maybe incorporating something like FFXII's Gambit system.

A man may dream!

Wow, lol... Paul Warren takes his reviews crusade here to a whole new level. I wonder, what would he do without reviews? Or if one enjoyed a game, but then looked at the review at turns out the game "sucks." Uh oh, I've been playing a bad game all this time!

A game I enjoyed received a 7.6 according to IGN, so I didn't like the game after all:

OT: I'm clueless on this one, since I don't know all that much about the details of these devs. I'm not a huge Matsuno fan (and I don't care for Itagaki), but it's nice to hear some big names showing some Wii love. Err... if it is on the Wii, that is.

That would... actually be awesome.

A game like FF12 where the point is to not play the characters but develop them and give them set starategies and watch them engage other enemies.

Like Ogre Battle but a little more opened up.  Then again the closed nature of Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre is what made them such well balanced gems and why Tactics Ogre was better then the casualed up Final Fantasy Tactics.
