Just to end all those discussions about Wii´s short lifespan:

I don´t buy my console to play in HDTV.

That´s it. End of the story.

Excellent, now everytime someone brings up the point about the Wii's short lifespan, I will just say:

Louie doesn't buy a console to play games in HD graphics.

That's a valid point.

Seriously, statements like "this is the generation of HD" and "ten year lifespan" are nothing more than marketing talk. Someone has to be really close-minded to believe in this nonsense all the while the Wii is selling at break neck speed. HD graphics this generation are probably less important than online gaming in the last generation. A ten year lifespan is impossible to happen if a console doesn't sell well.

The only marketing stuff that seems to be somewhat true is "playing is believing", probably because videogames are about, well, playing games.

Lol you know what I meant Rolstoppable

Nobody would buy a console just because it can output HD.

All of those Sony fans who claim the PS3 will win because of it´s 1080p would claim "we don´t need HDTV" if Sony would´ve decided not to include it.

It is not about HD but still about the games on the system. And they are not necessarily (damn...what a word) better on the PS3.

Better that way, Mr. Rol-I-know-everything-better-than-you-Stoppable?

Also a Japanese company(forgot the name) is already able to demo it's UHDV, Ultra High Definition Video which outputs in sizes that make 1080p look like nothing. 7680 x 4320

Nah, we're probably not gonna see UHDV for at least another 10 years, possibly 20. It's just far too impractical for commercial use right now, the testing phases that were held for it left people suffering motion sickness lol.

The closest we'll get to that in 10 years will be 4000x2000. Check this out: http://whathifi.com/home-cinema/archive/2007/06/11/news-see-spiderman-3-on-sony-s-4k-super-hd-projector.aspx

LCD sucks man the screen is plastic, lighting can fry it, plasma tv's are the ones you need.
I'm not quite sure what you mean, no you mean lightening, in which case any electical device is likely to break, or do you mean if you shined a bright torch at it or something, in which case it still sound like a loada BS, to be frank.

I know you like Sony but don't just go spitting out numbers like the Wii will get replaced every 3 years >_>

You're new here ertyu, I can appreciate that.

In time you will learn to ignore his poorly-disguised threads that serve absolutely no other purpose than to act as vehicles from which to launch his myriad derisive attacks at Nintendo.

I see. I kind of saw that from lurking for so long but I will keep that in mind for future reference when posting :P

Wii60 owns and that's all anyone needs

Even if the Wii is only 480p, it will not be dead just cause the market only sells HDTV(1280 X 768, 1920 X 1080). Coz these new HDTV can still play 480p contents. I dun see why Wii will die just cause SDTVs are removed from the face of this planet. Btw, I seen the Wii on a 42" plasma, and it looked great! Nice vibrant colors. I just hope they can upscale Wii to 720p with a firmware flash(Heard rumors on this, how true is it?), else my Wii is a wasted piece of machine.
